Nollywood Veteran Producer, Amaka Igwe, Is Dead

Oh dear! This is really sad. One of Nigeria’s most distinguished producer and director, Amaka Igwe, is dead. She passed on at the age of 51. She reportedly suffered an asthmatic attack, and died while being taken to the hospital.

Amaka Igwe was in Enugu for the pre-production of an Igbo series when the unfortunate incident occurred. I heard the President of Actor’s Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, has also confirmed the news.

She is survived by 3 children, husband of 21 years and her mother. For those who do not know much about her, this woman is the creator of one of the best TV shows in Nigeria of all time: Fuji’s House of Commotion.
