AIG Mbu detains AIT senior correspondent Amaechi in Abuja

Do you know that if AIG Mbu Joseph Mbu acts in a controversial manner and you call him controversial you will end up in a police cell? Well, that is what has happened to a senior correspondent with Africa Independent Television, AIT, Amaechi Anakwue.
The popular journalist who is among the leading voice on Political Platform on RayPowerFM was detained for over 8 hours now in abuja on the orders of AIG Mbu, the former Police boss in Rivers State, for referring to him as 'controversial' during a TV programme on AIT. Below is a statement from AIT on Amaechi's detention by AIG Mbu:


"The management of DAAR communications owners of AIT, Raypower, Faaji FM and DAAR Sat has demanded the unconditional and immediate release of its senior correspondent Amaechi Anakwue who is presently in detention following a order from Joseph Mbu, AIG Zone 7. Joseph Mbu had ordered the arrest of the ace journalist for calling him 'controversial' during a TV programme."
