know that there is a life after Jamb and your released result whether
you passed in flying colours or not. As you all know that your
pre-requisite into the University in Nigeria is the Joint Admission
Matriculation Examination, hence the need for the examination.
THE Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2015/2016 Examination has been scheduled to commence on March 9, 2015 and ends on March 21, 2015. While some people have written the examination and seen the result, others are still preparing for theirs.

JAMB Officially Release March 10 CBT Results
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the March 10th Computer Based Test (CBT) results for candidates that wrote yesterday. Statistics of yesterday’s performance has some show of success from majority of the candidates that have seen their marks.
Although the release of this year’s Computer Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination was fast, the exam board had failed to meet up with the two (2) hours timeline given earlier for the publishing of result for the UTME written today. We however commend JAMB for making the result available same day – it’s not easy!

Touching Story Of A 24 Year Old Boy Who Rides Okada To Raise His School Fees Yet He Got Dismissed For Late Payment
Contending with poverty, Adegboye Oluwadare Adebare, 24, an indigene of Modakeke, Ife-East Local Government Area of Osun State, rides an Okada (commercial motorbike) to make a living. He also hopes to pay his way through the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State.
He is supposed to be in part three in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, but he is currently battling for reinstatement, having fallen a year behind because he could not pay his fees on time at the 200 level. He told Daily Sun that he asked for withdrawal for a semester, because he could not pay the school fees.
Unfortunately, he has not only lost a whole session, but has now been asked by the school authority to withdraw for failing to pay school fees for that session. In the letter by the school’s Faculty Officer, Humanities and Social Sciences, the school said his inability to complete the 200 level and his failure to pay up the school fees, violated the school’s regulations and therefore nullified his studentship:

Covenant University finally set to reduce expensive school fees
The Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Prof. Charles Ayo, has hinted that the school may likely reduce its tuition fees in a bid to accommodate more students who will want to benefit from the quality education it offers.
Addressing a news conference on Friday over the school’s recent Webometrics ranking as the first in Nigeria and West Africa and the 15th in Africa, he said the move would make admission into the school more affordable and competitive.
He explained that apart from the fact the Chancellor of the school, Dr. David Oyedepo, had already thought about it, the school management also had plans to increase its internally generated revenue so as to augment its income, which would make the review easy:..

‘UNILAG graduate’ rapes nine-year-old, flees(Photo)
December 2, 2014 was a sad day for Mrs. Bilikis Balogun. That day, she learnt that her innocent nine-year-old girl, Nofisat, had been sexually assaulted by their 30-year-old neighbour, Ikechukwu Obasi, while she was in the market.
“He has fled his apartment since the incident. But I just want him to face justice and get punishment for what he did to my daughter,” she said.According to Bilikis, she was in the market when her daughter came crying, and told her the story about how their neighbour took advantage of her at their 83, Aina Street, Pako Aguda home, in Surulere, Lagos.
“I have never thought that the man could do that to my daughter. He was such a friendly person in our compound. All I know about him is that he is a ‘Yahoo-Yahoo guy’ (a description for young men who specialise in internet fraud).

Teachers and pupils of LEA Primary School, Nabor, a village close to Angwa Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, are now living in fear following the arrest of a university graduate, Sheriff Charles, who was alleged to have buried at least 25 raw eggs around the school premises.
Already, many pupils and even some teachers have deserted the school. The alleged culprit, Charles, who resides in the village with his parents and other siblings was said to have gone to the school after closing hours on Monday, November 24, 2014 to bury the eggs between two blocks of classrooms. As he claimed, the intent was for him to receive favour from God and man.

JAMB Approves 30 CBT Centres In Lagos For 2015 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it had approved 30 computer-based centres for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Lagos State.
Lagos Coordinator of the Board, Dr Beatrice Okorie said that the development was a great improvement over the previous years when there were only five centres.
She disclosed this when asked about the board’s level of preparedness ahead of next year’s matriculation examination slated for March 4, 2015.
The board, had during the 2014 examination which comprised the Paper Pencil, Computer Based and the Dual Based modes, declared that it was migrating fully to an all computer based test, reports the News Agency of Nigeria. Now, the coordinator said that about 30 fully equipped centres had been approved for the conduct of the examination.

She is a 300 level Computer Science student. The 6th of November, 2014, was like every other day for her at the University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba. As the female student, who claimed to be sick, returned from lectures and stepped into her apartment located at the Moremi hall in UNILAG, one Daniel Okereke, a big boy who has been wooing her, came visiting.
She is a 300 level Computer Science student. The 6th of November, 2014, was like every other day for her at the University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba. As the female student, who claimed to be sick, returned from lectures and stepped into her apartment located at the Moremi hall in UNILAG, one Daniel Okereke, a big boy who has been wooing her, came visiting.
Without any hesitation, the undergraduate was said to have left her room to attend to her visitor, who it was learnt opted to take her to a pharmaceutical store around Akoka to get some drugs. He reportedly took her to an eatery, so that she could get some food before taking the drugs.
Funny enough, he offered to take her to his house and she accepted. Imagine a girl who claimed to be sick; she decided to follow a man who is not yet her boyfriend, he is still wooing her, to his house? Story for the gods! The rough guy took her to his house in the Mende area of Mariland where he allegedly ended up raping her...

Kessiana Salubi, former beauty queen dies at 34 in her sleep
She might nit be remembered by a lot of people as she has aged now but she was quite popular many years ago.
Formerly a student in UNILAG, Kessiana Salubi was a model, Miss UNILAG 2001, first runner up Miss Nigeria 2002, an Architect and an Interior Designer.
Unfortunately, the former beauty queen died on Friday November 7th in her sleep.
According to a family source, she came back from an outing, had dinner, had a bath and went to bed in her Lekki home; she didn’t wake up the next morning.
She was just 34 years old and survived by her parents and siblings.
May her beautiful soul rest in peace.

EFCC arrests 30 year old final year student of Uniben over $12,000 internet scam
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 arraigned an undergraduate of the University of Benin, Kenneth Rukewe Ebule before Justice E. F Ikponmwen of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin- City on a 6- count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents.The accused person allegedly duped Sabine Albert, a German, of the sum of $12, 088, 75 through fraudulent claims.
Rukewe, 30, a final year student of Computer and Statistics at the University of Benin, was arrested by officials of a new generation bank on May 28, 2014 in Benin City and handed over to the EFCC for further investigation.

UNILORIN becomes The first University in Nigeria to be ranked in Africa’s top 20!
The Vice-Chancellor the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali, has announced that for the first time in history, a Nigerian university was ranked 20th in Africa and 1,842nd in the world.“I am happy to restate that a remarkable thing happened to the Nigerian university system this year, courtesy of UNILORIN.
“For the first time since ranking began, a Nigerian university was ranked among the best 2,000 universities in the world”, he said.

Mass failure at Nigerian Law School as over 3,000 students fail bar exam
Apparently there was mass failure at the Nigerian Law School this year.
The Nigerian Law School recently released the 2013/2014 August result,
and it was a Tsunami. Out of the 5,000 candidates who registered, only
about 2,000 passed. Meaning that about 3,000 students failed the bar
exam, the highest failure the Nigerian Law School has witnessed since its 50 years of existence.
Many of the students are angry and frustrated. They say they don't believe the mass failure is the fault of the students and are now asking for a review of their results. An affected student who reached out to LIB said; Continue...

SAD! How UNILAG Students Use Pure(Sachet) Water to Put out fire at their hostel!
Madam Tinubu Hall, MTH, was razed by fire in the earlier today after a student used a hot plate to cook and put it under her bed. The fire started from the room and spread to other rooms but thankfully no student was killed. A few of them were injured when they tried to jump from their windows to escape the fire.
The students had to use pure water to put the fire because there was no water in the hostel.
