Former Inspector General of Police, MD Yusuf, dies at 85

Former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Yusuf has died at the age of 85. The former police chief died last night April 1st in his home after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. A native of Katsina state, Alhaji Dikko was the Inspector General of Police from 1976 to 1979. He will be buried this afternoon according to Muslim rites. He's survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Masked gunmen storm Kenyan University this morning, 5 killed

Masked gunmen suspected to be members of Somalia Islamic sect, Al-Shabab, stormed Kenyan's Garissa University College, Garissa town, which is near the Somali border, this morning as students were praying in the school mosque and started shooting indiscriminately.

According to Kenyan's police spokesperson, Zipporah Mboroki, the attackers numbering about 5 killed two of the school guards as they made their way into the campus. Eye witnesses said the attack began around 5.30 this morning and said that about 5 people including students have been killed, many injured and there are reports of hostage taking.

Former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has apologised to Nigerians over his infamous conduct at the collation and announcement of the presidential election results at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

Orubebe, who tendered apology to Nigerians, said he regretted his action. He also claimed that his action was sequel to the failure of Jega to treat the petition of the PDP over some results in the North.

17yr old Siobhan O'Dell from North Carolina applied to study at Duke University in her home state and got rejected. The school'sadmissions department sent her a letter on March 26th telling her she'd failed to make the grade. Police shut Ekiti House of Assembly to block APC Lawmakers

The same police that "interpreted" the law to withdraw Speaker Aminu Tambuwal's security are now finding it hard to understand that 7 members can not be greater than 19 members in Ekiti State.

There was tension in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday as the 19 APC lawmakers stormed the Ekiti State House of Assembly to resume their legitimate legislative duties.

Their return caught workers and the seven PDP lawmakers loyal to Governor Ayodele Fayose unawares and created tension as officials of the Assembly hurriedly vacated their offices.
