Gen. Buhari married Hajia Safinatu in 1971 and they had five children, 4 girls and a boy. She was First Lady of Nigeria from December 1983-August 1985. Buhari divorced her in 1988 and married Aisha Buhari in 1989 with whom he had five more children with - four girls and a boy. Hajia Safinatu died in 2006 from complications from diabetes. Former Nigerian goalkeeper Wilfred Agbonavbare has died

Former Nigerian International goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare has reportedly lost his battle with cancer. The ex-Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper who had been receiving treatment at a Spanish hospital was said to have died yesterday January 26th.

Agbonavbare, who was a member of Nigeria’s U-21 Mexico 1983 Flying Eagles, lost his wife three years ago to breast cancer. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Kidnappers Demand $100,000 For School Girl’s Ransom

This is indeed a sad story for the families of Okoro who gave their daughter some money to return back to her boarding school in Ikenne but was sadly kidnapped on her way from Ajah to school. Precious later found herself in Niger Republic and she has been there since last year. I wanted to read and summarize before, but after reading the story, I felt you should read it too. My only fear is that, they said rather too much. What if the kidnappers get to read this? May the Lord be with the poor little girl. Just too sad. Read her sad story after the cut. A Niger Republic-based kidnapping syndicate has demanded the payment of $100, 000 as ransom for the release of its 15-year-old victim, Precious Okoro.

The victim’s father, Nwaigwe, explained that Precious was kidnapped around Songotedo, in the Ajah area of Lagos State, where she had boarded a commercial vehicle en route to her school in Ikenne, Ogun State. He said he never knew his daughter had been abducted until two weeks later when the school management contacted him to say Precious had not reported in school.

Unmanned drone armed with Missiles allegedly crashes in Borno village

An unmanned drone suspected to be used on the counter-insurgency operation in the Northeast has crashed at Dumge village of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State Dumge is 30km northeast of Maiduguri.

The Nigerian military is yet to issue statement regarding the drone.

That looks like a rocket or missile of some sort on the drone, brave dudes are prodding it with a stick.

Obasanjo replies Bishop Oyedepo over "Gate of Hell" comment

Since the alleged statement credited to Bishop David Oyedepo that he would open the gates of hell for those against President Goodluck Jonathan or his government hit the net, there has been many reactions.

But one is standing out, and it is allegedly coming from Baba himself, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo. He was said to have replied Bishop Oyedepo and cautioned him against such partisan prayers.

Obasanjo through his twitter handle on Monday said that no pastor could tell Nigerians who to vote:

“We all want #CHANGE. Vote based on what you know not on reli­gious or tribal sentiments! No one has the key to hell! Don’t be threatened!"

How Kidnappers fled to Niger republic with Ogun School girl (Photo)

A Niger Republic-based kidnapping syndicate has demanded the payment of $100, 000 as ransom for the release of its 15-year-old victim, Precious Okoro.

The victim’s father, Nwaigwe, explained that Precious was kidnapped around Songotedo, in the Ajah area of Lagos State, where she had boarded a commercial vehicle en route to her school in Ikenne, Ogun State.

He said he never knew his daughter had been abducted until two weeks later when the school management contacted him to say Precious had not reported in school.

He explained that he reported the matter to the police at the Ajah Police Division, where he was asked to exercise patience. He said the cops initially thought she fled to a boyfriend’s house.

Nwaigwe, a trader, said he was later contacted by the kidnappers, who informed him that his daughter was in Niamey, the Niger Republic capital.He said,

Bad! Husband and wife lead gang to rob in Ogun (See)

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a gang of armed robbers, including a couple, who allegedly went to rob in an estate at Abule Lemode in the Ijoko area of the state.

Our correspondent gathered that the four suspects ─ Amache and Seun Augustine, Taiwo Dada and Ezekiel Alawode ─ were apprehended while allegedly robbing at Santos Crescent, Araromi Estate.
