The project took about a year and six months to complete, with the students working under severe condition in regards to power supply, poor machinery and attending lectures. But they never backed down, and have achieve this incredible feat.‎

Boko Haram takes over Hometown of Chief of Defence Staff

What manner of ceasefire is the Presidency negotiating with those Boko Haram people?

The dreaded terrorists have captured Vimtim, the hometown of Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Marshall Alex Badeh, as they continue their onslaught in the north eastern parts of the country.

The annexation of Vimtim is a consolidation of the terrorists’ earlier victory who captured the border town of Mubi as they overran military barracks, police area command and other strategic places in the town.

Reports from the area indicate that before the capture of Victim, a reinforcement of soldiers sent to the area led to a sustained battle with the insurgents throughout the night before the insurgents finally overpowered the soldiers and captured the town...

24yr old British-Nigerian lady, Joy Williams (pictured above) has died after a failed £2,000 butt enlargement surgery in Bangkok, Thailand. The young lady's older brother, Anietie, who lives in Nigeria, said the family didn't even know she'd traveled to Thailand.

"We don't really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media." Anietie said

He also said that the family is making preparations to bring her body home. According to the Daily Mail, Joy, who relocated to the UK from Nigeria in 2007 and lives with her mother in Thamesmead, died on October 23rd after visiting a clinic called SP Clinic in Thailand which she had found on the internet. How Woman Kills Man who tried to rape her in Lekki (Photo)

According to The Punch, an unidentified suspected rapist has been killed in the Lekki area of Lagos State while attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman, Ifeoma Okechukwu. The incident happened on Monday, around 12.30pm, in Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki. Okechukwu was on her menstrual period and had gone out to buy sanitary pads. The Imo State indigene was said to be on her way back home when she was accosted by the stranger.
According to her statement,

“After buying the sanitary pads, I was going back home when I saw a man, who should be in his forties, standing at a corner. He approached me and ordered me to take him to my house.“He put his hand into his pocket as if he wanted to bring out a weapon.

How my father died Yinka Ayefele Narrates

The sad news broke out weeks after the famous musician and his wife had welcomed their third child.
Speaking recently with City People, Yinka said that his father, a renowned teacher in Ipoti Ekiti who rose to the post of Headmaster before his demise, knew he would die soon, which happened on the day of his 76th birthday.

When asked about how it happened, the singer said:

“I believe Baba (father) had premonition of his death, he knew he was going to die because he called me a week before his demise that he wanted to celebrate his birthday. I was very happy because he had never celebrated his birthday before. Even when he clocked 70, I wanted to celebrate his birthday for him, and I told him I want to put something together for him, and stopped me from doing it, because he was of the belief that anybody who celebrates birthday won’t live long. So I was very surprised when he called me to tell me that he is planning to celebrate his 76th birthday.”
Yinka disclosed that his father also called his siblings to invite them and called him again October 11, a day before the birthday.

Boko Haram On Fire: Takes Over Military Headquaters and the 2nd Biggest Town in Adamawa

Fighting between Nigerian troops and Boko Haram insurgents escalated in Mubi, Mararaba Mubi and Uba all in Adamawa State on Wednesday.

Mubi, the second largest town in the state and host of two high institutions, was the worst hit.

A parent, Ahmad Sajoh, whose daughter is studying at the Adamawa State University, said that as of 2pm on Wednesday, the police barracks in the Government Reservation Area was overrun by the insurgents while the prison in the town was blown open.

According to Sahara Reporters, the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents took over the headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.

The situation is so bad that banks are on the run, moving their cash to the state capital, Yola.

Sources say Boko Haram decided to launch a massive attack on Uba in the Michika-Madagali area of the state in response to sustained aerial bombardment of their hideouts by security forces...

Ebola Victim arrives Lagos from Sierra Leone; People Scamper

There was serious panic at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday as a Nigerian, who had contacted Ebola Virus Disease in Sierra Leone arrived aboard Royal Air Maroc.

The ebola victim, Theophilus Onnakhinon, was flown from Sierra Leone by the airline while his younger brother, Chinedu Eroka, was said to have absconded from the Sierra Leonean authorities. It was not however clear why Eroka absconded.

A source close to the Port Health at the Lagos Airport confided in aviation reporters that the victim had been treated of Ebola virus in Sierra Leone and cured of the disease by the health authorities of that country after some weeks in their custody.

Boko Haram reportedly sacks Army HQ in Mubi, Adamawa state

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, suspected members of Boko Haram entered Mubi town in Adamawa state today Oct. 29th and took over the army headquarters of the 234 battalion in the town.

The troops guarding the barracks reportedly initially exchanged fire with the sect men but fled after they realized they were outnumbered by the militants and their heavy firepower.

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is pleased to announce the formal burial of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State. We warmly congratulate the 85,500 patriotic citizens of the State who empowered us to make this announcement through their physical presence at APC Port Harcourt Mega Rally held last Saturday, 25th October, 2014, at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

It was a rally during which 85,500 people struggled to see the man described as the hero of the new political dispensation in Nigeria – Rt. Hon. Chibuke Rotimi Amaechi, Governor of Rivers State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF). It was a day set aside to celebrate the epochal judgement of the Supreme Court that stands as a mystery to many political watchers – a verdict which ensured that Rt. Hon. Amaechi, who was denied his victory by the then PDP leadership, was handed over the mantle of leadership of Rivers State on 25th October, 2007.

Instead of the 50,000 expected by the organisers, over 85,500 eventually attended the rally, with 46,000 seated, 25,000 standing and 14,500 standing outside the stadium main bowl but participated fully by following the programme through the giant television sets and loudspeakers placed at strategic places outside the stadium by the oragnisers.

A 54 year old man, ThankGod Ebhos has been freed after spending 19 years on death row in Nigeria.

Just last year, ThankGod's life was saved seconds from his execution. He had been tried and sentenced to death by a military tribunal in Kaduna in May 1995, after he was accused of an armed robbery that had taken place in 1988.

June 2013, ThankGod was dragged to the gallows at Benin Prisons, forced to watch four fellow 

death-row inmates being hanged and was told he was next. His execution was however halted when prison authorities realized that his death sentence required it to be carried out by a firing squad, which the prison was not prepared for.

These were the words of a 15-year-old girl, who was abducted by Boko Haram and forcibly married to one of its commanders in a camp in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The girl, according to a report by Human Rights Watch, was abducted in 2013 but she escaped after four weeks in captivity.

The teenager is one of the five girls that personally recounted their ordeals in the publication which was made public on Monday. She said that after her marriage to the commander who was in his early 30s, she was ordered to live with him in a cave...
