Gunmen believed to be members of Islamic
sect, Boko Haram, on Sunday Jan. 26th
launched a fatal attack on a Catholic church in Waga Chakawa village in Madagali Local Council Area in Adamawa State killing at least 22 people. The four-hour attack lasted from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. without resistance from security operatives.
Eye witnesses said two policemen and a
security guard attached to the church were
also killed during the attack. The Local Govt chairman, Maina Ularamu, while confirming the incident urged the people in the area to remain calm, saying that security operatives were on top of the situation. Always on top of things after the fact! God help us!
