Cult War: 3 die as rival gangs clash in Lagos

Three persons were reportedly killed as two cult groups clashed in Lagos. Police have confirmed the incident and revealed that investigations are still ongoing.

Three persons were killed as rival gangs clashed in Lagos in the Ijora Badia, Apapa-Iganmu area of Lagos State.

One of the victims, identified simply as Jamiu, was hit with an axe, while Kazeem Ayinde and another yet to be identified victim were killed as a revenge for Jamiu.

According to Punch, a notorious gang from White sand and Railway areas has been engaged in a supremacy battle with another gang in the Badia community.

The recent hostility reportedly started on Christmas day which left many dead.
A resident of the area, Adeyemo Ajayi, told Punch that Jamiu’s friends from the Badia community avenged his death.

Jamiu was a neighbour and I knew him well. We used to chat, although I sincerely don’t know the job he did. They came to his house with an axe and hacked him to death. His family does not live around here, so it was policemen from Ijora Badia that came to take his corpse away,” Adeyomo Ajaji said.
He also revealed that members of the gang Jamiu belonged to, launched a reprisal on the Railway gang, leaving two dead.

The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident and revealed that police are already investigating the killings.
